The RUBBINGgallery is interested in images, sets of images and documentation of contemporary arts practice that are:
• ‘Rubbings’ that are the work of contemporary visual artists – professional or otherwise
• Frottage or other works (collages etc.) either that originates from, or includes, a ‘rubbing’
• Digital imagery, and/or documentation of ‘work’, that draws upon, or includes, rubbing/frottage techniques and sensibilities.
The RUBBINGgallery is a curated space and there is limited administration support available to manage the space. Therefore, it may not always be the case that all work submitted will be added to the site. However the intention is to be as inclusive and as diverse as possible.
In the current development phase you are invited to make a submission to ‘the gallery’ and we are interested in receiving:
• Still images – resolution 72dpi and 600 pixels wide
• URL links to images, image sets or video material hosted elsewhere.
The aim is to explore the extent to which ‘rubbings/frottage’ is used in contemporary cultural production. We seek practitioners’ support in achieving this.
